Keeping Watch and Keeping Count

While we know a great deal about the complex natural systems of the landscapes under our care, there is much that we do not know.

As we make decisions about how to best care for our special places, we use the best science available as well as hands-on field work inventorying, monitoring, and conducting research on the plants, birds, animals, and insects that call our reservations home. We focus on:

  • Breeding birds
  • Plant communities
  • Herbs
  • Coastal ponds
  • Deer biology
  • Lyme disease
  • Salt marsh ecology
  • Shorebird biology
