School Programs

We believe that to protect what you love you must first come to know and understand it. As we look to building the next generation of children who love the outdoors, culture, and history, The Trustees is pleased to PreK-12 programs that connect students to its special places. Interdisciplinary, experiential programs relate to real world concerns while complementing Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and STEM/STEAM initiatives.

Our agriculture, environmental, art, and social history programs offer exciting opportunities, such as:

  • Connecting to the rhythms and realities on a working farm at Appleton Farms, Weir River Farm, The FARM Institute and Powisset Farm
  • Understanding coastal habitats and ecosystems at World’s End, Crane Beach, and on Martha’s Vineyard
  • Learning about the physics, engineering, and aesthetics involved in creating outdoor sculpture at deCordova
  • Exposure to the daily lives of the Alcott family, Quakers, and Northeast Nipmucs at Fruitlands

Most programs are also adaptable to after school, youth groups, homeschoolers, and scouts.

School Overnights on Martha’s Vineyard
