Since the Conservation Common launched in 2007, we have worked to make it a vibrant virtual community where our fellow conservationists – professionals, volunteers, and those simply interested in conservation and urban park issues – could share resources and information. You embraced those goals and helped to make it an early success.
We’re proud of the work we did together to create this first-of-its-kind online community. But in recent years, as social media has grown and resources have become easier to find online, the Common has not sustained a large enough audience to continue to make it viable, and The Trustees have made the difficult decision to close down the Common as of December 19, 2012.
For those who visited the Common for its list of events, grant opportunities, and job listings, we recommend bookmarking some of the following sites, which are terrific resources for the conservation community:
We’ll look forward to seeing many of you on March 23 at the 2013 Massachusetts Land Conservation Conference: “What is a Green Future Worth? From Rural Landscapes to City Parks.” We will continue to email you updates about the conference, especially as new workshops and presenters are added.
Thank you for being a part of this online community – we appreciate your support and all the work that you are doing to create a greener Massachusetts!
