Responsibilities:
The Connecticut River Valley Management Unit is looking for an enthusiastic person to take the lead organizing others in our volunteer initiative. You will be helping us recruit fellow volunteers, organizing them on projects and reporting your success. The job will have you working very closely with the superintendent of the properties, with the management unit’s educator, and with your volunteers.

The projects that you will be organizing range from invasive species control to implementing interpretive programs with local experts. Since this is a growing program, there’s plenty of room for creativity and your ideas will be heard and you will get plenty of support when you need it.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to write clearly and accurately
  • Attention to detail
  • Courteous and professional manner with callers and visitors
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail
  • Physical ability to work outdoors, to handle shovels, rakes and other tools, and to walk on rugged trails
  • Transportation to begin work in downtown Holyoke

Note: Bilingual volunteers (English/Spanish) are preferred, not required
