Responsibilities:

Combine your love of the outdoors with volunteering! Property Steward will walk Dinosaur Footprints regularly, talking with visitors and keeping a log of the number of people you meet. The may also be opportunities to help us with more detailed visitor surveying work. You’ll also keep the bulletin board up-to-date and filled with brochures. In addition, you are responsible for removing trash, small branches, and other debris that fall on the trails, and reporting larger concerns to staff. There may also be some invasive plant removal projects which we could use your help with. There are also the possibilities for you to play a role in greeting visitors and providing interpretation. The Property Stewards will be asked to keep track of their hours and report these and other observations to the staff on a regular basis (at least monthly). You may also be asked to attend meetings in Holyoke or assist with special programs on an infrequent basis.

Preferred Skills &
Abilities:

Plant identification skills, and knowledge of the ecology and geology of the Connecticut River Valley are helpful but not required. Must be physically able to walk on uneven terrain. Must be conservation-minded and willing to help maintain the property. Property is accessible by public transportation.

Time Commitment:
1 hour each week, 2-4 weeks per month, year-round or seasonally
