BNAN Drivers: Produce to Pantries

Location:
Boston Natural Areas Network
Overview:

The Trustees of Reservations is looking for drivers to transport local produce to food pantries. This year, the Boston Natural Areas Network (BNAN) is expanding the “Produce to Pantries” project affiliated with the Boston Gardeners Council. In the past two years, community gardeners and local farms have donated over a thousand pounds of produce to food pantries throughout Boston. Last year this program reached approximately 150 families in the first three months.

This year, we will be working with three food pantries within the city: St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Dorchester House, and the Haitian American Public Health Initiative (HAPHI). We are excited to reach out to a larger range of communities in different neighborhoods and we hope to expand the program further in the coming years. As with any volunteer effort, we always need help!
