4H Program Leader | |
| Location: |
Weir River Farm |
| Responsibilities: |
We need adult leaders to help with our 4H program at Weir River Farm. The 4H programming leader would work independently or with another leader to lead monthly meetings of a 4H club. Weir River Farm would be able to provide space to meet, access to our livestock and ongoing support. Plymouth County Extension would be able to provide curriculum guides to follow and ongoing support. Livestock at the Weir River farm currently include horses, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, llamas and steer. |
| Preferred Skills & Abilities: |
A 4H programming leader should be a person who is interested in helping youth gain confidence, practical life skills and make a lasting connection with their community. A leader can be someone like a parent, homemaker or teacher and by no means must be an “expert”. All adult volunteers will need to fill out an application and undergo a screening process through the Plymouth County Extension Office. For more information about 4H, consult the statewide website at www.mass4H.org. |
| Time Commitment: |
Most clubs meet one or two afternoons per month for approximately two hours. |
