Cancellation Policy
Please note, our cancellation policy has changed.
Things come up. Life happens. A full refund, less the nonrefundable deposit ($75 per session), is provided to camp families who cancel on or before June 1st. After June 1st, refunds are no longer available, however we are happy to make session changes for a $20 administrative fee.  Once a session has begun, we do not offer rebates or partial refund for incomplete attendance. If we must cancel a session for any reason, you will receive a full refund.

Deadlines
All camp forms, waivers, and the balance of your camp tuition are due by June 1st. If registering after June 1st, payment in full is required and a specific camp form deadline will be set for you. A camper cannot attend camp and his/her spot is not guaranteed until all forms, waivers, and payments are completed (or a payment plan has been established).

Membership
The Trustees is a member-supported nonprofit organization. Our Family Members receive a significant discount on camp programs. If you are not already a member, you can choose to become one when you register for camp. As a new member, you’ll automatically receive the member discount. Please note that membership must be current during the weeks your child is attending camp.

Discounts
In these tough economic times, we are working hard to keep our prices affordable. When you enroll siblings at SummerQuest, you will receive a $10 family discount on each additional child.

Financial Assistance
The Trustees is committed to providing environmental experiences for youth regardless of family income. Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis, and are made possible with generous contributions by the Crane Company, New England Biolabs, and individual donors.

Before Care
For those parents who need to get to work before the 9AM camp start time, we are happy to provide before care. Our staff is available to accept your child as early as 8AM. You must register in advance for this service, and the cost per week is $45. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate campers before 8am or after 4PM.

Buddy Requests
We pride ourselves on turning strangers into friends, but sometimes, you still need a buddy. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to place your child with another camper. We will honor one request per camper when possible, based on age and maturity level.

What to Bring
The SummerQuest experience offers unique opportunities for learning and adventure in the great outdoors. We want your child to be prepared—but not overburdened! Please remember to send your camper with an easy to carry waterproof backpack, a water bottle (we have refilling stations), sunscreen, bug repellent, a snack, lunch (for Plovers, Questers and Steward groups; we do not have refrigeration or heating capabilities), a bathing suit and a towel. We provide bins for storing extra clothing, foul weather gear or anything else you’d like your child to bring. Please check the parent Handbook for suggestions and restrictions

A Word About Insects
The beauty of the Crane Estate lies in part with the stunning views of the barrier beach and salt marsh ecosystems. Unfortunately, existing this close to nature means that we are affected by the nuisance factor of greenheads, mosquitoes, and gnats. While hard to forecast exactly, prime time for greenheads is typically from mid-July to early August. Camp staff works to avoid areas most densely populated by insects during the times when they are most active, however it is impossible to avoid them completely. We recommend daily application of insect repellent.

Carry In/Carry Out Policy
SummerQuest, as is the case elsewhere on the Crane Estate, observes a carry in/carry out policy. All trash such as wrappers and bags must return home in your child’s lunch box. Please remind your child of this policy and consider using reusable containers to reduce waste.

Licensing and Accreditation
SummerQuet complies with all regulations set forth by the MA Department of Public Health, and is inspected and licensed by the Ipswich Board of Health. Experienced lifeguards are employed to supervise all swimming and boating activities, and SummerQuest complies with Christian’s Law. Parents have the right to request and review the following policies: background check, health care, discipline policies and grievance procedures.
