Coronavirus Update
We have also made adjustments to our camp structure and procedures in accordance with the new Massachusetts Requirements for Child and Youth Serving Programs. Please note the following, which may impact your decision to register your child for camp this year. For more details, please review the Trustees Health & Safety Information.

  • Practicing social distancing between and within small camper groups
  • Eliminating all before/after care options and large group activities to avoid mixing of groups.
  • Eliminating all camper transportation in our camp van (this means we will not be able to access the boat dock for kayaking or boating)
  • Screening all campers and staff at the entrance to camp each day, including contactless thermometer readings and inquiries into camper and family health.
  • Sanitizing camp bathrooms regularly and making these bathrooms available only to campers and camp staff.

Member Discount
The Crane Estate is part of The Trustees, a member-supported, nonprofit organization. Our Family Members receive a generous $100 discount for each camper for each week of camp, plus admission, discounts, and other benefits for your entire family at our 118 properties across Massachusetts.

If you are not yet a member or need to renew, you can purchase a membership as you register for camp. Your member discounts will automatically be deducted from your total at checkout. Memberships must be valid through the end of August.

Sibling Discount
When you enroll two or more siblings at SummerQuest, you will receive a one time $10 per additional child discount.

Session Change Policy
If you need to change your session for any reason, there will be a $20 administrative fee for each change. Once a session has begun, we do not offer rebates for partial or incomplete attendance. If we must cancel a session, you will receive a full refund.

Cancellation Policy
Prior to June 12, we are able to refund your camp registration fees. After June 12, we are not able to refund cancellations that are not COVID-19 related. Please note that Membership dues are not refundable.

Payments & Deadlines
The balance of your camp tuition is due by June 12. After June 12, you are required to pay in full. Camp forms are due no less than 2 weeks prior to the start of your camp session.

Financial Assistance
The Trustees is committed to providing camp experiences for youth regardless of family income. To obtain a scholarship application, please click here or contact Education Manager Victoria Sindorf at vsindorf@thetrustees.org. Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis and are made possible with generous contributions by the Crane Company, New England Biolabs, and individual donors.

Buddy Requests
We pride ourselves on turning strangers into friends, but sometimes you still need a buddy. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to place your child with another camper. We will honor one request per camper when group size permits and while taking into consideration age and social readiness.

A Word About Insects
The beauty of the Crane Estate lies in part with the stunning views of the barrier beach and salt marsh ecosystems. Unfortunately, existing this close to nature means that we are affected by the nuisance factor of greenheads, mosquitoes, and gnats. While hard to forecast exactly, prime time for greenheads is typically from mid-July to early August. Camp staff works to avoid areas most densely populated by insects during the times when they are most active, however it is impossible to avoid them completely. We recommend daily application of insect repellent.

License and Accreditation
SummerQuest complies with all regulations set forth by the MA Department of Public Health, and is inspected and licensed by the Ipswich Board of Health. Certified lifeguards are employed to supervise all swimming activities, and SummerQuest complies with Christian’s Law. Parents have the right to request and review our background check, health care, and discipline policies as well as grievance procedures.
