2010 SummerQuest at the Crane Estate

An Outdoor Adventure in the Ultimate Backyard

The Crane Estate’s 2,100 spectacular acres make an incredible backdrop for SummerQuest day camp, where outdoor learning meets fun and adventure.

Your child will have an unforgettable experience making new friends while following his/her curiosity in the historic hills and halls, marsh and dunes of this magical, seaside estate. Through hiking, swimming, observing, playing, and learning, children discover more about their local environment, and themselves.

Every week-long session is packed with the traditional camp activities that make the summer special: songs, games, and outdoor fun with new friends. Children at SummerQuest also go on adventures unique to the Crane Estate, from looking for life in the marshes to sketching a map from the roof of the Great House on Castle Hill.

Working together to solve “quests” – treasure hunts that range over the estate – or working on other projects, children build confidence and communication skills. Along the way, they’ll become more comfortable outdoors and learn more about the stories that make the North Shore a special place. There is plenty to share with family and friends at the end of the week, and also plenty of time to play, swim, and kayak at Crane Beach, under the careful guidance of talented and certified counselors.

SummerQuest at the Crane Estate was first made possible in 2007 through generous support by New England Biolabs and The Crane Company, to provide children the opportunity to explore the Crane Estate and learn about the unique resources of the North Shore.
