Studies show that children who spend time outside in nature are happier and healthier. The Trustees offers two unique camp options for area families - Weir River Farm Camp and World’s End Camp - to connect children to the natural world around them.
At Weir River Farm Camp, campers roll up their sleeves and head to the barnyard to care for the animals—tossing hay to the sheep, filling water for the goats, collecting eggs from the hens, and mucking horse stalls. They learn hands-on gardening skills in the Children’s Garden, harvesting tomatoes, kale and other delicious vegetables. And, in the surrounding elds and woodlands, they will romp along with new farm friends in search of hawks, salamanders, and forest fairies. Each day will also include creative games and engaging crafts designed to further instill the importance of nature exploration and agricultural practices into our daily lives.
World’s End Camp gets campers outside exploring the 251-acre landscape that includes rocky shores, beaches, open elds, and enchanting woodlands. Through nature-inspired week-long themes, such as “water,” “shelter,” “food,” and “air,” children discover the plants and animals that call this place home, all while learning about the delicate balance within nature that supports all living things. All along the way, campers will make new friends as they sing fun camp songs, play games, and learn useful skills like compass navigation, plant identi cation, and animal tracking.
Both our camps infuse learning opportunities with fun adventures in a safe, supportive environment. Your child will love meeting our furry farm animals, nding hermit crabs along the shore, and playing hide and seek in the forests and sun owers. We hope you’ll join us this summer!
