For our older campers who want to understand a little more about a working farm, we guide our days around some important questions What is a sustainable food system? How do we balance farmland with wild lands? What does it take to get food on my plate? From there, our week’s activities are built around understanding what makes our farm sustainable and how we can help to make a difference both on the farm and at home. Campers will explore the fields and forests of Appleton, hike to the Grass Rides, learn how to care for the animals, maintain and harvest the gardens, and discover the magic of the farm. Farmhands partake in plenty of games, cooking competitions, farm Olympics, and time with our barnyard animals, and bring their new gardening and culinary skills home from the farm.
