All are welcome to "The Picnic," a special community gathering in support of public art and gardens! Pack a picnic, bring good company, and enjoy a fabulous evening on the green at the beautiful Allen C. Haskell Public Gardens. Enjoy fresh oysters from Cuttyhunk Oysters ($1 each), free samples of specialty foods from Sid Wainer & Son, and delicious baked goods (prices vary) from The Baker of New Bedford. Listen to the sounds of local bluegrass band Slow Boat Home as you play lawn games and laugh with friends and family. Hear local artists talk about "Maps & Legends Two: If By Sea," an art exhibit installed in historic greenhouses on the property or enjoy a tour of the gardens by a Haskell horticulturalist. It's BYOPicnic, but we provide tables (covered with vintage tablecloths and decorated with flowers), chairs, live music, tours, and a lovely atmosphere. All proceeds benefit AHA! New Bedford and the Haskell Public Gardens, a property of The Trustees. Don't miss this magical summer night picnic in support of organizations that make our community great! Sponsored by Howe Allen Realty, SERVPRO, and Dominoes.
