The historic landscape of Appleton Farms, the oldest continuously operating farm in America, has long fascinated photographer Bill Franson. Set against the backdrop of Appleton Farms, established 1638, and the Carriage Barn dating back to 1880, Bill will discuss his current project photographing the Appleton Farms landscape and the trees in season using a large format film camera. Bill will demonstrate the technical aspects of taking large format photographs as well as making Cyanotype prints, the third oldest photographic print process, invented in 1842. Weather permitting, participants will walk the property with Bill and see firsthand the locations photographed in comparison to the final prints made. Guests are invited to explore Bill’s mind along with the property itself. View more of Bill's work here. This program meets in the Carriage Barn.
