The Trustees and Notch Brewing are partnering to bring a series of family-friendly, outdoor ‘biergarten’ experiences to some of our parks, farms, and cultural sites this year.
Each biergarten will present family-friendly activities, food, refreshments, and entertainment, and will highlight each location’s unique character, history, and natural wonders. The weekends will feature locally crafted session (low alcohol) beer by Notch, which grows its barley and malt locally in Hadley, MA. The gardens are modeled after European-style, outdoor beer gardens growing in popularity both nationally and internationally as more and more people look for ways to enjoy leisure time together with family and friends.
Here's what's happening at the Bird Park Biergarten this weekend:
Friday, August 24
4-5pm: Meters for Litres 5k run around the park led by Notch Brewery
4-9pm: Refreshments, lawn games, & self-guided Bird Park quest
Saturday, August 25
10am-2pm: Dog Day at Bird Park (fundraising walk at 10am, followed by a Flying Frisbee Dog performance at 11:30 and a very silly "Best in Show" competition at 1:00pm. Free dog-related activities on offer.)
12pm: Biergarten opens
12-7pm: Refreshments, lawn games, & self-guided Bird Park quest
