The "Reading Room Arts" program connects reading with arts & crafts — a beautiful combination! In recognition of the Summer Solstice, this month's topic is the sun. Come to the park to make nature sun prints and enjoy a selection of books on the topic in Bird Park's outdoor reading room. The Reading Room has Adirondack chairs (for both big and little bodies) arranged under the pines and a table with different children's books on the selected topic. The books are only available during "Reading Room Arts" programs, but the reading room is available all spring and summer (as is the Little Free Library nearby).

This program is inspired by "Read All About It: Art in the Park!", an art exhibit that showcases over twenty 3D still or interactive installations by local artists inspired by books of their choosing. The exhibit is a partnership between the Walpole Public Library, The Walpole Council on Aging, and the Trustees. The installations are on display at Bird Park and at the library. Maps are available at both the park and library.
