2018 South End Garden Tour

Looking for more cool stuff to do?
We've got tons more fun events and programs in your area – sign up for our monthly enews here!

The garden gates open in Boston's South End for our 25th Annual South End Tour. This always-popular neighborhood event provides an opportunity to explore some of the South End's most spectacular private outdoor spaces. Thread through alleys and walkways for a self-guided, behind-the-scenes look at gardens ranging from intimate, informal, and even quirky spaces designed by resident gardeners, to the work of noted landscape designers -- many of which are open to the public only on the day of this tour.

The tour rotates through the neighborhood opening new gardens every year. This year's tour starts at the South End Branch of the Boston Public Library and features gardens in an area bounded by Dartmouth St., Columbus Ave., Rutland Sq., and Tremont St.

A note: www.southendgardentour.org is neither owned nor administered by us and contains outdated information about this year's tour. We apologize for any confusion this may cause.

IF YOU PURCHASE A TICKET IN ADVANCE - All tickets will be available for pickup the day of the tour at the Tour Tent at 685 Tremont Street.

The tour is powered by volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering (two hours)  in exchange for a free ticket sign up at :

Getting to the South End Garden Tour:
Orange Line
Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station. Exit the station and cross Dartmouth Street to enter the Southwest Corridor Park. Turn right when you reach West Newton Street and proceed to Tremont Street. The library will be on your right at Tremont Street.

Driving and Parking
Metered parking may be available in commercial stretches of Columbus Ave. and Tremont St. In addition, a small number of visitor spaces can generally be found on either end of the residential blocks. Lastly, LAZ operates parking garages at 126 Dartmouth Street and Copley Place. Both are located close to the end point of the tour route. 685 Tremont is a pleasant 10 - 15 minute walk down the Southwest Corridor Park or Columbus Ave. turning right when you reach West Newton Street. The Red Sox will be playing in Seattle making navigating and parking in the neighborhood somewhat easier.
