Our favorite Halloween family event has expanded! In addition to the beloved pumpkin decorating & carving contest, we’ll have a pumpkin-lit “nocturnal trail." Families with little ones are invited to walk a short trail through the woods dotted with fun facts about the nocturnal animals found in the park. Along the trail, four "nocturnal animals" interact with participants and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, so remember to wear your costume and a bring flashlight!
As in the past, carvers and decorators of all ages are welcome to submit a pumpkin to the decorating & carving contest. Pumpkins are judged in four different categories by guest judges. Categories include "Most Creative," "Scariest," "Most Traditional, and "Funniest." Winners are announced that evening. Each winner receives a pumpkin ribbon, bragging rights, and an opportunity to stand proudly on the pumpkin podium for a photo with their winning pumpkin! Bring your pumpkin to the event or drop it off at the Bird Park office prior to the event. All can enjoy Halloween-themed games, a costume parade, spooky music, & more! Cider, donuts, and hot drinks will be sold to support the park. Activities take place near the Music Court (stone stage). This event is done in partnership with the Friends of Bird Park.
Price: The pumpkin decorating/carving contest, games, and parade are FREE. Trick-or-treating on the “nocturnal trail” is $5/child $10 maximum).
No registration necessary. Please contact Maura (firstname.lastname@example.org; 508-668-6136) with questions or to check for cancellation in case of inclement weather.
