Join us for a special Kids in the KITCHEN program as we take field trips into the market to see how two of our favorite vendors make their delicious food from scratch! Each day will start with a tour of the vendor’s booth and end with an edible activity. This program is for kids aged 6+.
Join us for one or both days:
On Saturday, March 25th, we’ll get a pasta making lesson, make our own pasta dish & get a tour of the Nella Pasta booth from Nella Pasta manager, Avery! First we’ll all meet in The KITCHEN, and then go on a “field trip” to the Nella Pasta booth where Avery will show everyone how the pasta machine works. Then we’ll head back to The KITCHEN where each child will get to roll out his or her own pasta dough and Avery will lead the group through making a simple, but healthy and delicious pasta dish! And finally, the group will all eat together in The KITCHEN.
On Sunday, March 26th, the kids will learn all about bagels with Levend Bagelry. The day will start with a “field trip” to the Levend booth, where Levend owner Alex will show the kids how bagels are made at his shop! We’ll then head back to the KITCHEN to get our hands in some fresh dough and understand how bagels are formed and the different steps that go into making this breakfast classic. Then kids will get to make their own BAGEL PIZZA, which we’ll bake and then eat together in The KITCHEN.
We will meet in The KITCHEN at 1:30 pm on both days before we go on the “field trips.” This special Kids in The KITCHEN class is 1.5 hours long. We invite kids age 6+ to attend with their parents. Parents are required to stay in the Market or nearby for these events.
