In the mid-19th century, Concord became the center of American literature and philosophy with Manse residents Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne leading the way.  This tour focuses on Nathaniel and Sophia Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and the impact of Transcendentalism during the American Renaissance of the mid-1800s.   On request, we can also tailor your tour to focus on Hawthorne or Emerson and the Transcendentalists. Offered daily every 30 minutes.  Last tour begins at 4:30PM.
