Meet Phebe Emerson Ripley (1741-1825) and see revolutionary Concord through the eyes of a woman who lived at the Old Manse on the day of the Concord Fight, April 19, 1775.    Madam Ripley will describe the horrors and excitements of that fateful day, when she witnessed Redcoats marching across her ‘back yard’ to seize a cache of ammunition and weapons held by the colonials at the nearby Barrett’s Farm.    And learn, too, what the women of Concord faced as the soldiers left town and the war dragged on.  Historian Diann Ralph-Strausberg, appearing as Madam Phebe Emerson-Ripley, will share Madam Ripley's experiences and take your questions, both as Madam Ripley and as Diann.
