Explore differences of landscapes and capture a moment in time. In this three-day Plein Air workshop series, students will paint in three different Trustees locations, comparing the differences of New England landscapes.
Tuesday-Thursday, July 17-19th, 9:30am-4pm
The first day, the group will paint at Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, taking in the outstanding vista where one can see for miles. Day two brings us to Farandnear in Shirley, where the trees of the pinetum will be the feature point. Closing out the series on day three, the group will meet at the Doyle Center in Leominster to explore the waterway, bridge, and wonderful weeping willows. These three destinations will give you a variety and with guidance you will learn how to design, simplify forms, and get the landscape down quickly and effectively.
Inclement days we will work inside or under cover. Some drawing experience requested. Critiques and historical references will be part of the experience. Mature teens are welcome to participate in this adult program. Please note that space in this class series is limited and pre-registration is required.
Member $200. Nonmember $250 for full three-day workshop series.
