Monthly January through March, join us in the Fruitlands Art Gallery for facilitated Salon Conversations. Join local scholars to discuss historical issues that have contemporary relevance in an inspiring atmosphere, surrounded by a vivid display that includes many Hudson River School landscape paintings. Light refreshments provided.
In January we kick off the series with a discussion facilitated by Fruitlands Curator, Shana Dumont Garr, and Engagement Manager, Catherine Shortliffe. We will explore the history of some of the landscapes depicted in the exhibition "A New View: Landscapes from the Permanent Collection." Who has claimed ownership of these lands? What indigenous heritage defines these spaces? Do these landscapes remain preserved today? Join us as we discuss the standing of private and public lands historically and today.
Please help us plan and pre-register online for this program.
Member $9. Nonmember $15.
