Sounds of the Garden Concert

We’ll have light refreshments, information about community gardening in Boston, and a mini-concert featuring local musicians. Come enjoy the garden with your neighbors and friends.



Open Garden Afternoon

THe Lenox & Kendall Community Garden will open its gate to visitors. Come tour the garden, meet gardeners, share gardening tips, and get inspired. We’ll have light refreshments, information about finding a community garden plot, and a mini-concert featuring local musicians. Come enjoy the evening with your neighbors and friends



Composting Together

Learn to make your own black gold! Join us in a lovely JP community garden to get all your compost questions answered.

Making compost allows you to recycle waste products into a valuable soil amendment. We'll go over ingredients, methods, and containers for making great compost in your community garden or backyard without creating pest problems.



Halloween at Hutch
Saturday, October 21 | 4-7PM

Milton

Come together with family and friends to celebrate Halloween with a fun, non-spooky party! Guests of all ages can enjoy hot cocoa and cider around the campfire, participate in Halloween crafts and games, take a swing at a pinata, and of course, show off their costumes!

Visit the Forbes House Museum across the street and sit with Royal Governor Thomas Hutchinson, under the large Beech Tree to hear historical spooky stories about his life, his land and the home he loved.

After dark, take a peek at the night sky with our local astronomer!

Advance registration is appreciated but not required. Become a member at the event to receive free admission along with a special gift.

South End Apple Festival

Come join us for a celebration of everything apple!

The afternoon will include family friendly demonstrations and activities. Learn about different varieties of apples available locally in New England. Press cider using a bicycle powered cider press, enter your favorite apple recipe in our contest, or enjoy 'old time' games and activities. Think pie eating contests (apple of course), the classic 'Donut on a String' and other favorites.

Bulb & Garlic Planting

Before you put your garden to bed for the winter, tuck in some bulbs and you can be rewarded with beautiful color as well as tasty garlic next season. Join us for a hands-on demo and learn tips and timing for incorporating ornamental bulbs and garlic into your garden. We'll cover design, variety selection, planting, and mulching.



Thanksgiving Treats & Tales

Join us for a unique celebration of the Thanksgiving season on the beautiful Governor Hutchinson's Field. Gather around the campfire with family and neighbors to make sweet and savory treats and share stories about Massachusetts' Native Americans. Enjoy games and sunset over the Boston skyline.

Park on the field--come through the opening in the stone wall on the left side of the field.

Solstice Illumination Night

Come welcome the return of the sun and brighten the darkest day of the year with a community celebration! Enjoy a fire dance performance and music, make s'mores around the campfire, and sip some hot chocolate. Feel free to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Dress warmly and invite your friends!
