As one of the last working farms on the South Shore, we welcome anyone with an interest in agriculture, hard work, and a love of the outdoors to join us at Weir River Farm. There are a number of ways to get involved.

Volunteer Field Crew

Drop by and get your hands dirty alongside the farm crew and other volunteers in the fields of Weir River Farm! Help us plant, weed, harvest, or work on a variety of other farm projects. All ages are welcome, but youth under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesdays & Saturdays, through September | 2–5PM

Register here.

Meet us at the parking lot across from 160 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham. Do not park in driveway of 160 Turkey Hill Lane. Crew days will be cancelled in the event of rain. If you have questions, email Rory at

Every season we also hire apprentices to work on the farm and learn about organic vegetable production on a small scale. Please contact Rory at for more information on these positions.

Environmental and Farm/Food Education

If you would like to share your love of nature with others or help kids take their first close-up look at a real chicken, consider volunteering with our environmental and farm/food education programs at Weir River Farm. Individual volunteers are needed to assist with our popular school programs, afterschool programs, 4H and summer camps. We also have opportunities for teens over the age of 12 to take part in our Counselor-in-Training program during the summer. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Emily at

Trail Maintenance and Land Conservation

Volunteers are welcome to join us our land conservation work at the farm and other nearby Trustees properties, including World’s End.  Projects may include clearing trails, removing invasive species, providing information to visitors, or maintaining the farm property. For more information, please contact Fran at
