Powisset Cooks! is designed for people who love food and farms. Excite your senses, expand your palate and broaden your cooking repertoire, with hands-on cooking classes for adults, children and couples, vacation week programs and al fresco Friday Farm Dinners – all centered around farm fresh food. Come explore Powisset Farm from field to fork!

What Do We Offer?

Public Cooking Classes & Workshops
Gather in Powisset’s state-of-the-art farm kitchen and classroom for hands-on cooking classes with professional chef instructors and cookbook authors. Classes focus on local, regional and international cuisine and offer opportunities to understand flavor profiles, new ingredients, special techniques and the importance of farm fresh food. We offer evening and daytime classes for adults and daytime classes for children. Classes are limited in size, to guarantee a rewarding learning experience and good time for all. Each class concludes with the opportunity to share culinary creations together. Pre-registration is required for all classes. A class list is available on the website.

Private Cooking Classes & Workshops
Private cooking classes are a unique way to celebrate a special occasion, or simply gather together with friends and family. We create custom classes based on your interests and led by a professional chef instructor. At the end of the class, your group will gather to dine on the delicious food they’ve prepared. Please contact powissetfarm@thetrustees.org for pricing and available dates.

Children’s cooking classes and birthday parties provide ultimate fun on the farm. Led by a Powisset Cooks! instructor, junior chefs work together to make a special recipe, and usually have enough left over to bring home a sample to share. Between making food together and enjoying birthday cake, children can visit the animals in the barnyard. Please contact powissetfarm@thetrustees.org for pricing and available dates.

Private workshops for adults focus on the importance of farm fresh, natural ingredients. Our wellness experts can lead a workshop on mindful eating, creating custom facial and body treatments, planting in the greenhouse and more. School Vacation Programs
Kiddos In The Kitchen’ is Powisset Farm’s signature school vacation program for children ages 7-12. During February and April vacation weeks, children can spend mornings at Powisset learning to cook in the Powisset kitchen. Each day includes a visit to the farm animals and time to sample culinary creations together. Single day and full week programs are available. Program size is limited and pre-registration is required. Programs are listed on the website.

Friday Farm Dinners
Powisset’s Friday Farm Dinners are a ‘must-do’ summer experience. Friends and family members will enjoy a relaxing evening including watching the sunset over the farm fields, passed hors d’oeuvres, a gorgeous al fresco dinner incorporating farm-fresh ingredients, live music, lawn games and beverages including local craft beer and wine.

Dinners are held rain or shine, from June through September, and sell out quickly. Pre-registration is required. Friday Farm Dinner dates are available on the website.
