The farm property is open year-round, 7 days a week, from dawn until dusk. Take a leisurely walk down the farm road past the chickens, pigs, and 12 acres of vegetables (please do not enter vegetable fields). Then follow an easy, one-mile loop trail past woodlands, wild flower gardens meant to attract our native pollinators, and wetlands through the far reaches of the 108.5-acre property.
Beyond the cultivated land, Powisset Farm features an upland oak forest, a pair of brooks, vernal pools, and wooded wetlands. You’ll enjoy broad views across furrowed croplands and thick hayfields; the latter attracting white-tailed deer, wild turkey, grassland-nesting bobolinks and many species of butterflies and dragonflies.
Pick-Your-Own Flower and Herb gardens by the big gray barn are open to the public every day from dawn to dusk, from June–October. Scissors are provided; please bring your own containers. Please follow the instructions for harvesting and paying on the posted signs.
Group Tours are available upon request for a nominal fee. If you are interested, please contact Farm Manager, Andrew Kelly, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please enter the farm by the entrance next to the big gray barn. Then park immediately on your left along the side of the barn. If all spaces are taken, please park along the right side of the driveway on the grass. Please exit the farm to the left, passing the pond and up the small hill out to Powisset Street.
There is an electric deer fence around all of our cultivated fields. Please assume the fence is ON at all times.
Please say hi to our Powisset Farm pigs and chickens, but please refrain from feeding or touching them. Please note that dogs are not allowed at Powisset farm. They are permitted at Noanet Woodlands across the street if you would like to enjoy a walk with them before or after your visit to the farm.
