At The Trustees, our goal is to ensure that all of our visitors – people and pets – have a great day out at our reservations.
We recognize that our four-footed friends love to play and run around at our reservations as much as people do. But we also recognize that not all dog owners pay attention to the rules when they walk their dog – this creates tensions among our visitors and can negatively impact our property resources.
That’s why we created the Green Dogs program, a pilot program aimed at creating a welcoming, comfortable, and safe environment for dogs, their owners, and all of our visitors.
Five reservations currently have Green Dogs programs: Rocky Woods and Fork Factory Brook, Appleton Farms Grass Rides, Moose Hill Farm, and Crane Beach. When you receive a Green Dogs permit, you can walk your dog at any of these reservations.
How Can I Become A Green Dog Walker?
Trustees of Reservations members may obtain a “free” Green Dogs permit. Your permit will remain valid as long as you keep your membership current. Simply follow the instructions on our application form to receive your permit.
Green Dog Etiquette
Whether you’re walking your dog at Green Dogs reservation or at one of our special places that welcomes dogs, please be considerate of other visitors and follow Green Dog etiquette.
Each Green Dogs reservation has special guidelines for walkers. Please take a moment to review them before you visit.
