RULES AND REGULATIONS
* Sandscape permits are required for all entries. Each entry is limited to 10 participants. Corporate teams are limited to 20 participants.
* All materials used in construction must be found naturally on the beach. Only plant material washed up by the tide may be used. Use of living dune vegetation is cause for immediate disqualification.
* Sculpting may begin at 8 AM.
* Each sandscape is allotted a 30’ x 30’ plot of sand. Please contain your sculpture within this space and be respectful of other sculptures in you area.
* Tools, boards, and molds may be used to aid in sandscape construction, but they may not remain as a permanent part of the final sculpture.
* Hand tools may also be used to aid construction, but ecological sensitivity precludes the use of motorized or power tools (…not to mention, the need for a reeeeeally long extension cord).
* No dyes, spray paints or other “special effects” may be used (even if you ARE George Lucas).
* Sandscape architects and spectators must abide by the rules and regulations of the Crane Estate, a property of The Trustees of Reservations.
* No graft, payola, kickbacks, ballots stuffing, bribery, or other fraud will be tolerated. Contestants caught engaging in such illegal activity will be immediately disqualified (…but may qualify to run for political office).
* Impersonating a child (unless you ARE a child) is cause for immediate disqualification. (And children impersonating adults will be given a TIME-OUT…).
* Pets are not permitted on the beach (..including pets impersonating children or adults).
* Most prizes (including cash prizes) will be awarded by a panel of judges. A “People’s Choice” award will be awarded by popular vote. Awards decisions made by The Trustees of Reservations are final (..So don’t even think about getting us to change our minds!).
*Alcoholic beverages and illegal substances are not allowed on the Reservation. (Illegal substances are not allowed ANYWHERE, for that matter, because…well, they’re ILLEGAL!). |
