Boston Luminary Elected Vice Chair of Massachusetts' Oldest Statewide Conservation Organization
Sharon, Mass. – October 5, 2004 – At its 113th Annual Meeting last weekend, The Trustees of Reservations elected Winchester resident Lynn Lyford as Vice Chairperson. In this newly-created position, Lyford will head up The Trustees of Reservations' 43-person Advisory Council, and will serve as a liaison between the Advisory Council and the Board of Directors.
Lyford is Vice President of the Division of Cooperative Education at Northeastern University, and is a devoted conservationist who has been involved with The Trustees of Reservations for a number of years. Lyford also chairs the nonprofit conservation organization's Field Operations Committee, and is familiar with the organization's work in stewardship, place-based education, and property management.
“We are lucky to have an individual of Lynn's caliber as our first Vice Chairperson,” said Andrew Kendall, Executive Director of The Trustees of Reservations. “Lynn is a very talented and accomplished businesswoman, and she brings a broad skill set to The Trustees' conservation work, in particular her ability to communicate across all sectors, including academia, business, government and nonprofit.”
Lyford received a master's of business administration in finance from the Wharton School and a bachelor's degree in art education from the State University of New York. She is the immediate past president of The Boston Club, the city's largest organization of senior professional women, and was included among Boston Magazine's 100 most powerful women in 2003.
