| Job Summary |
| The Trustees of Reservations is looking to hire one Visitor Service staff member for the 2008 season. |
|
| Responsibilities |
- Gatehouse operations;
- Guest check in;
- Maintenance of visitation and fee records;
- Membership and tour sales;
- Operation of management unit radio and communication with base station;
- Scheduling kayak tours and conducting day-to-day operations of kayak tour program;
- Responsibilities may also include maintenance of buildings, structures, trails, signs, development and construction of interpretive materials, and other duties as assigned related tasks.

| Skills, Qualifications, & Work Experience |
Looking for a good natured, outgoing, safety conscious team player with an excellent work ethic. Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with the public in difficult situations. Background in Martha’s Vineyard biology, ecology (including bird identification), and geology is helpful but general knowledge is acceptable. Should be willing to learn.
A valid drivers license and good driving record as well as current CPR and basic first aid certifications (certification training can be provided) are required. Current lifeguard certification and experience with kayak operation and/or guided tours is welcomed.

| Additional Information |
| This position is 40 hours per week with a rotating schedule. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Compensation is $9/hr plus complete term bonus. The position begins June 10, 2008 and ends between August 23 and September 13, 2008. |
