Date: Saturday, March 29, 2008
Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: Copicut Woods - Bioreserve

Specific Location: Copicut Road (not Copicut Woods)

Directions: From I-195- Take exit 11, Reed Rd., in Dartmouth. Follow Reed Rd. north toward Hixville. Reed Rd. becomes N. Hixville Rd. At 2.7 miles pass New Bedford Rod and Gun Club on right. Take next right onto Copicut Rd. Continue about 1 mile on Copicut Rd. turning right at the intersection with Indian Town Rd. Continue about 1/4 mile and park on the road across from first yellow house on the left.

Some guys will go to great lengths to get a girl’s attention. On this guided walk with Tom Athearn of Green Futures, we’ll witness the spring dance of the American woodcock. This normally reclusive bird puts on a spectacular mating display combining distinct calls and precision flying – and he does it again and again until he gets the girl.
