            | Property Description | 5 acres | Established 1955 | Crowninshield Island (formerly called Brown's Island) marks the entrance to Dolliber Cove. This modest coastal island features a variety of marine ecosystems, including several tidal pools, a small sandy beach, a field, a salt marsh, and a wooded hilltop. From a jagged granite promontory, visitors can take in views of Fort Sewall, Gerry Island, Marblehead Light, and Marblehead Harbor. The Island's name honors Louise duPont Crowninshield, a pioneer in America's historic preservation movement from 1925 until her death in 1958. She lived in her family home in Delaware and summered at Marblehead's Peach Point on Dolliber Cove. |
