Responsibilities

Do you enjoy hiking and being outdoors? We are looking for volunteers interested in becoming Trail Stewards. Trail stewards hike on a designated property on a regular basis, trim back branches that encroach the trail, place small branches, sticks, etc. off the trail and report on major trail conditions (such as fallen trees, etc), collect trash or other items that may be present on the trail, re-stock the property sign-board with new property maps and brochures and interact with visitors and answer questions as applicable, and report to the Superintendent on a regular basis (weekly is ideal) via e-mail or telephone to check in.


Required Skills & Abilities

Candidate should be physically fit, mature and have good communication skills.


Time Commitment Needed

Two hours every week or every other week spring through fall.
