| | Responsibilities | Invasive plant species are a significant threat to the native forest plant communities in the 13,600-acre Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve. At the Trustees’ 516-acre Copicut Woods, known invasive plants infestations are few, somewhat isolated and manageable. Typical woody invasives are bittersweet, multiflora rose and honeysuckle. Volunteer(s) will remove known invasive populations and monitor trails and forest openings for new populations. Woody invasive plants can be controlled almost anytime except winter. Hand tools and/or hand pulling will be used to remove invasive plants. New invasive populations will be mapped using GPS. |

| | Time Commitment Needed | Flexible. Woody invasives can be removed during spring, summer and fall. |
