Division of Conservation Services
Encourages and oversees drafting of municipal open space plans, reviews proposed conservation restrictions for Secretarial approval and provides grants to municipalities for conservation and parkland acquisition and construction through the state's Self Help and Urban Self-Help programs.
Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation
The largest landholder in Massachusetts, managing over 285,000 acres of state forests and parks, DEM also provides oversight of private forestry and sponsors several grant programs including the Greenways and Trails Grant Program and the Historic Landscape Preservation Grant Program.
Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Environmental Law Enforcement
Focused on the management and conservation of the state's fisheries and wildlife, including endangered species, through education, regulation and the acquisition and management of extensive wildlife management lands.

Executive Office of Environmental Affairs
The cabinet level office that oversees the state environmental programs; it includes Departments of Environmental Protection, Environmental Management, Food and Agriculture, and Fisheries, Wildlife and Environmental Law Enforcement, as well as several smaller divisions.
