The Semper Virens Society, which means "always green," recognizes those supporters who have invested in the future of The Trustees with a planned gift. There is no minimum gift level, and membership is for life.
Planned gifts are the ultimate expression of commitment to the land protection and stewardship work of The Trustees and include:
- Bequests
Typically a gift of cash, appreciated securities, or personal property.
- Retirement Assets
Designation of all or a portion of unspent retirement fund assets.
- Life Income Gifts
A gift of cash, appreciated securities, or other assets, such as real estate, in exchange for regular income payments for life or over a fixed period of time.
- Real Estate
A gift of real estate, allowing you or another to use the property for life, or, with a Charitable Remainder Trust, to generate additional income.
- Charitable Lead Trusts
Income from the trust is paid to the charity for a defined period (specific number of years or an individual's lifetime). When the trust terminates, the remaining assets are transferred to individuals named by the donor.
Members of the Semper Virens Society receive:
- Invitations to special events, including The Trustees' Fall Weekend and Annual Meeting;
- quarterly news updates through the "Report to The Trustees;"
- recognition in the Annual Report (you may remain anonymous if you prefer)
