Gifts of Land & Conservation Restrictions

When you give land to The Trustees, you are creating a permanent legacy and helping ensure the healthy future of our communities.

You have many options when giving land to The Trustees – including giving land that might not be appropriate for conservation but which can be resold to benefit land conservation. Your donation may provide you significant income tax, estate tax, and capital gains tax benefits.

You can give land during your lifetime or leave it through your will. You can donate an entire property or a smaller portion – or even undivided interests in a parcel, with prior consultation. Or, donate a Conservation Restriction (CR) on your land. Learn more about Conservation Restrictions.

The option you choose will depend on your personal circumstances – we encourage you to contact us as you contemplate a possible land gift so we can help you find the right option for you. Call 978.840.4446 x1922 or email our expert staff for advice and guidance.
