Great House Tours at Castle Hill, The Crane Estate, Ipswich MA

A national treasure, this magnificent mansion offers an opulent glimpse of the Crane family’s life in the roaring 20’s. Tours feature beautifully appointed rooms with ornate woodcarvings, luxurious Italian marble, sterling silver fixtures, and stunning bathrooms that exemplify Crane Company craftsmanship.

2012 Season: Open May 23 - October 13, Wednesdays – Thursdays | 10AM – 3PM; Fridays – Saturdays | 10AM – 1PM (except July 4th)

Members: free. Nonmembers: Adult $12, Child $5. Minimum age: 8 years old (16 without adult). Combined Great House and Estate tour ticket: $15 for nonmembers. Group tours $10 for groups of 15 or more: by appointment. Please call 978.356.4351 x4001.

Castle Hill Estate Tours, The Crane Estate, Ipswich MA

Take a guided walking tour of this grand, early 20th- century estate by the sea and experience art, architecture and landscape design highlights. Learn how landscape architects Arthur Shurcliff and the Olmsted Brothers transformed a bare, sandy drumlin into a beautiful, country retreat. Explore the farm area, vegetable garden, formal garden areas and other outbuildings while enjoying breathtaking views of Crane Beach and Crane Wildlife Refuge.

2012 Season: Thursdays & Saturdays, May 24 through October 27 | 11AM. Tour lasts 90 minutes. Bring comfortable footwear and water bottle. Members: Free. Nonmembers: $10 (children under 12 free). Minimum age: 8 years old (16 without adult). Combined Great House and Estate tour ticket: $15 for nonmembers.
