The Trustees of Reservations
Ipswich, MA – November 13, 2012 – The Trustees of Reservations (The Trustees), the nation’s oldest statewide land trust, today announced some important leadership changes taking place among staff at their Ipswich properties. Steve Sloan, a 15-year veteran at The Trustees and an Ipswich native who was raised on Argilla Road, has been named Regional Director for the organization’s Greater Boston and Northeast properties, including the Crane Estate and Appleton Farms. Ipswich native Peter Pinciaro, who formerly served as the Crane Estate General Manager for three years and Superintendent for 16 years, and Operations Manager for Greater Boston for three years, is returning to the iconic property as Deputy Director, working under Sloan to concentrate his efforts on the overall management of the Estate and Appleton Farms. Together, Sloan and Pinciaro bring more than 45 years of experience and a deep knowledge and personal connection to The Trustees’ Ipswich and other North Shore properties.
David Beardsley, Crane Estate & Appleton Farms Director for the past two years, will now serve on a statewide level as The Trustees’ Director of Enterprise and the Interim Vice President for Stakeholder Engagement. In his new role, he will continue to be involved in many of the operational and community engagement functions of these properties. Bob Murray, who has served as Crane Estate Superintendent for five years and led the historic three-year restoration of the property’s Grand Allée, will now put his extensive experience to work as the new Operations Manager for the organization’s Greater Boston and Northeast reservations, which include the Old Manse in Concord, Stevens-Coolidge Place in Andover, and Powisset Farm in Dover.
Under this new leadership structure, Sloan, Pinciaro and Murray will provide support to vital on-going projects at the Ipswich properties, including the Appleton Farms dairy processing plant and retail store and the completion of the Crane Estate Allée Casino restoration project and.
Trustees President Barbara Erickson sees great potential in the new structure, noting, “These leadership changes will enable us to strengthen our on-the-ground management at two of our most popular properties and allow us to focus on the critical responsibilities of protecting and caring for these and our other rich cultural and natural landscapes statewide. In Ipswich, we look forward to continued growth and success with our SummerQuest camp and public events at the Crane Estate as well as the launch of our full suite of dairy products and the introduction of our volunteer-based maple sugaring operation at the farm.”
